Family Fun Day in Sydney

Every Sunday in Sydney, you can purchase the Family Fun Day transportation passes which allow you to use any form of transportation (train, bus, ferry) all day for just $2.50.  So, we took advantage of one of these Sundays and took the train into the city.  Strangely, I don’t have a picture of us on the train (who am I??). Once we got into Sydney, we took the ferry over to Manly beach for a stroll by the beach and for some yummy ice cream. (again, no pictures…I’m kind of disappointing myself here!) We then took the ferry back to Circular Quay and walked around the harbour and the Opera House before calling it a day.

Kyla had to take a long bathroom break so I took just Hallie over and was able to get some cute pictures of her by the Opera House but by the time the big girls made it over to me, it was getting dark and the gardens where we were was closing…this was the best shot I could get. Smile

We’re getting used to this Family Fun Weekend stuff!

So, I’m on this facebook group called, North Shore Mums.  It has been THE best thing!  Like 3,000 mums in my area with advice on everything from best internet service and family friendly restaurants to vacation ideas and hair salons.  As soon as I’m ready to find a playgroup to join here, they will give me about 20 different places to go!  Through this group, I also met another American family that has lived here for 19 months.  She reached out to me as a fellow American to offer advice and give guidance since they’ve gone through what we have.  After talking a bit, we decide to meet up at this beautiful park area across from the Sydney Harbour for lunch with our families.  We had a great time and what a view!

Climbing palm trees and fun at the playground-notice the baby swing Hallie is in…she actually flipped upside down in it-I’ve seen very few playgrounds with the FULL bucket baby swing…Yikes!  And then notice her in the little teacup spinney thing-she LOVED it!

Sunday we met up with a coworker of Brian’s to have a picnic lunch and go Mandarin picking.  It was a lovely day and we had so much fun.  Now we have a LOT of mandarins to eat, but we are definitely not complaining!!  YUM!

It was an amazing drive through the mountains-curvy roads, beautiful water and huge houses! We passed a few kangaroo crossing signs, but didn’t see any kangaroos on this outing.
