We missed Alaina’s Year 1 class item because they did it just before we moved, so we were so excited for this years! Alaina’s class did a presentation on water and its cycle, uses and ways to save it. Then they did a cute dance and song to “Singing in the Rain” complete with their “gumboots” and “brollies.”
It was a K-2 assembly, so Kyla got to watch her big sister up on stage too!
And Hallie got her own seat but was acting a bit camera shy
Alaina did such a good job!
Hallie wanted to join in the fun!
I was lucky enough to be able to volunteer for Alaina’s field trip. Since they’ve been studying water and transport this term, the Sydney Harbour was the perfect place to be. We loaded all of the kids on the bus and headed into the city.
Our Year 2 kids got this ferry all to themselves so they spread out on the upper and lower deck and got their drawing pads and maps out to document their trip. This was my group of kids for the day.
After touring the Harbour by boat, we stopped at Shark Island (named after the shape of the island!) to explore.
Our second stop was for lunch at Clifton Gardens. After lunch, the kids got to play on the playground and had a blast!
And some great views on our return trip.
Sophia and Alaina on the bus ride back….we all had fun, but were definitely exhausted!
