May was another busy, but fun month.  Here are the highlights!

We finally made it over to the Olympic Park Aquatic Center for a fun afternoon at the water park.

The kids are enjoying the new playroom set up with the food in the puppet house…they are so good at serving us yummy food!

Our school does mufti days for special occasions or opportunities to donate to good causes.  This was was dearer to our hearts as it was for Nepal (the girl’s Uncle Sudip is from Nepal) and the damaging earthquakes.  The kids needed to bring in a donation and dress in the colors of the Nepali flag.

I was definitely spoiled on Mother’s Day!  The kids and Brian made me a yummy breakfast to start my morning.

Then it was off to church where they always put on an amazing item for special celebrations.  This was top notch! They also gave us all special coffee mugs with “Brave women run in my family” written on them and the girls had decorated tea bags for me.

After church we headed to Bicentennial Park, near Sydney’s Olympic Park for a family bike ride. It was a beautiful day and was such a fun time!

We stopped by the Brickpit and enjoyed the Ring Walk.  The Brickpit contains the oldest rocks in Sydney. For over 100 years, the brickpit was a source of materials for Sydney’s buildings-sandstone and shale were quarried and clay was removed to make 3000 million bricks. The brickpit was going to be made into the tennis stadium for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. However the Green and Golden Bell Frog, an endangered amphibian, was found, so the tennis courts were built elsewhere. There are now over 700 bell frogs living in the brickpit. The circular viewing platform was built after the Games. The Ring Walk is an elevated circular walkway that allows visitors to access and view the Brickpit from above while preserving the habitat of the endangered Green and Golden Bell frog.

The girls enjoyed running around the Ring Walk and Brian and I enjoyed reading about the history and nature.

We decided to check out an 8am chapel service at our church, Hillsong.  We really loved it!

IMG_1884

We then went back to church at night for a special Hillsong United concert…can’t beat having this amazing worship team that tours the world and people pay big money to see, as our own home church worship team that performs a free concert for their home church, as well as most worship Sundays. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on our drive to church and got amazing seats for the concert!
