I love coming up with themes and going crazy with them…it helps when the girls are excited about the idea and a lot of times, they suggest them. Since we won’t have many more years of nice warm weather for Alaina’s February birthday, we have to take advantage of some of these summer themes! We decided on a camping theme as Alaina really wanted to have a sleepover.
Here was the entrance to camp and the list of things to find for their scavenger hunt later on.
Arts and Crafts set up for later
I didn’t really charge the kids
This was our first time ever putting this HUGE tent together! We’ve had it for about 2 years and for one reason or another haven’t had a chance to use it. We are happy we put it together before taking it camping….we’ve worked out all the kinks and NOW it seems to be an easy tent to set up! We strung lights over the top for a starry night!
I love this deck for all of my party set ups!
The food spread with all of the fun camping themes
The cake! This was a lot of fun and very easy! I loved the idea of the bonfire being lit!
The birthday girl!
Swimming time!

The finished products: I sent Brian to the store to get the prints done before some of the kids got picked up.
Time for presents. It was so cute watching all the girls getting excited for each gift. This is such a sweet age!
Time for dinner! Roasting hot dogs to go along with the baked beans, mac & cheese and corn on the cob.
Camp Kitchen
Time for s’mores! Most of the kids have never had s’mores. With no graham crackers, Hershey chocolates or good, soft marshmallows here in Australia, all of these were brought from the States and we borrowed our friends fire pit for the FULL camping and s’mores experience.
Time for the cake!
Movie time! Brian set up the TV & DVD player in the tent so they could all snuggle up in their sleeping bags to enjoy the show.
The kids had a blast and I’m not sure how much sleeping actually took place. They were still awake when I went to bed around11pm and I heard them some time around 5am the next morning! I loved hearing so many of them say, “this is the best party ever!” Here they are enjoying their pancakes, eggs and fruit breakfast.
And finally, their take home treat!
