We got the girl’s school pictures back…here are some photos of the photos…
Alaina’s school hosted their first annual Music Festival for all the surrounding school bands. Since Wahroonga was hosting, they weren’t part of the competition, but they still received scores from the judges and had marks in the high 90’s for both pieces and would have crushed the competition. They played beautifully and I cannot believe they have only been playing for one semester!
Alaina with her best friend, Sofia.
Kyla’s recorder group also performed a couple songs along with her 2 BFFs, Sophie & Bella. Kyla has been playing her recorder every day since…not sure if that’s a good thing!
The festival was a big success with music, raffles, cake stall, and inflatables.
On the last day of term 2, WPS had a special farewell assembly for their principle who was leaving Sydney for another education role in New York. It was a really nice send off! Mr. Benton came in with his luggage while the senior dance group performed as flight attendants. They sat him in his first class seat, complete with a neck pillow to prepare him for his inflight entertainment.
Some kids presented information that each class had gathered regarding all things maths, since that’s Mr. Benton’s favorite subject. It was quite entertaining!
There were several special items presented, including Kyla and the Junior Dance Group’s dance to “Uptown Funk”…so cute!
Alaina also performed with the Intermediate Choir singing, “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”
The kids had all made special signs for all things New York…a little taste of “home” for me.
