July Joys

We had a great July, minus the freezing cold house and extra dampness!  LOVE winters OUTSIDE in Australia…not so much inside-you definitely have to put on more layers to go inside in the winter!

During the winter school holidays, my friend, Jenny & I took the kids to Wannabees Family Play Town.  It was such a cool place and for the first hour, a lady took the kids around and did special things with them like using the green screen in the studio, dressing up for a stage performance and polishing nails in the salon.  Then it was time for the kids to explore!

They have so many different places to visit-Salon (hair & nails), Radio or TV Studio, School, Hospital (nursery & exam rooms), Supermarket with real cash registers, Fire Station (dress up & fire pole), Construction Site, Restaurant, Post Office (with special packages to be delivered to the other businesses), ATM, Police Station and more!

They had a rock climbing wall that they opened up at the end.  Alaina & Kyla did great on it!

Random photo from Aldi during their US week (around the 4th).  It’s neat seeing what is “American” to the Aussies as well as realizing some of the things Australia doesn’t have.

My friend, Nicole and her family joined us in Darling Harbour for some 4th of July fun. The Hard Rock Café was hosting an Americans in Australia party but it was way crowded and more for adults, so we enjoyed dinner and the fireworks in our red, white and blue!

Special treat for our 97 year old neighbor who is just so sweet!  He brings me flowers and fresh fruit all the time!

School holidays gymnastics for Kyla at the Olympic Stadium-very fun for them!  I even saw a group of girls from Michigan State University that were doing a study abroad program.  I got to say “Go Green” for the first time in a long time!

Sorting out some for her sisters…she loves to sort and organize!

Hallie attacked the fruit bowl again.  She likes to take a bite and if it’s not ripe enough, just puts it back in the bowl-nice!

Our garden is FULL of amazing, beautiful flowers all year long, but as we approach spring, it’s insane how gorgeous our gardens are!  I picked these flowers mostly from the back garden.
