We left bright and early the next morning to head to Grand Rapids for a mini Watson family reunion. After a quick pit stop at Beth & Sudip’s house, we made our way to Grand Haven and Lake Michigan. Unfortunately, the weather was not looking promising for our beach day (windy, chilly, and rainy), but we decided to stay. The kids got the sand toys out for a bit while the adults threw the football and frisbee around. We set up our picnic lunch under the pavilion and it’s a good thing we did, because it started pouring! Timing was good though-it rained while we ate and then held off the rest of our time at the beach.
We got in some fun games of football while the kids had a blast playing and digging in the sand.
Then Brian and his cousin, Cori, got the CrAzY idea to go INTO the water! After a bit, Beth, Aunt Cathy & I decided to join them! Beth and I had to run in or we’d chicken out…it was CHILLY!
It was fun jumping in the waves and chatting, but after awhile, it got so cold, we had to come out to warm up!
The men got into the sand building project
Late afternoon, we packed up from the beach and came back to the Suvedi’s house to prep for dinner. Everyone pitched in and we had a lot of fun!
I also had some fun playing around with my new wide angle lens!
While the adults were prepping the food, the kids had fun watching a movie, playing musical instruments and building forts.
Dinner time! YUM!
A little after-dinner soccer
Family picture time!
Then we headed out front to play a little pickleball & 4-Square while the kids rode their bikes. We also launched a lantern into the sky.
Then it was bedtime for the kiddos and pinochle for the rest of us! We had to tease Dad as all of his kids ended up at the loser table!
