Then it was time for our Milford Sound Cruise. We set off in the sound and took in all the beauty!
Bowen Falls-the highest and the most powerful waterfall in Milford Sound.
Beth & I enjoyed the views from the front of the boat….a little cold and wet up there!
Loved going through the mountains by boat…the mist, the sculptured rock face, the waterfalls, the tremendous beauty of God’s creation!
Fairy Falls
Some of the natural caves
Out in the Tasman Sea
The kids had great fun playing inside the boat while we enjoyed the views from the front of the boat.
We got to a lot of New Zealand Fur Seals during our cruise. Seal Rock is a great place for them to bask.
Approaching Stirling Falls. This waterfall is fed by glaciers situated in the mountains behind. Our boat got VERY close to these falls…and would have gone under if we had requested! The rainbows were an added bonus!
We were lucky enough to see a Fiordland Crested Penguin, which is one of the rarest penguins in the world. He swam in to shore and hopped up to the rocks…he was super cute!
Heading back the docks.
And one last picture for this day…Hallie has been so good with her toilet training and this trip was a big test for her to keep at it while away from home. She was diaper free throughout our days and long road trips and was really good at telling us when she had to go…well, she told us she had to poo on our way out from Milford Sound….in the DO NOT STOP, AVALANCHE AREA! So Uncle Sudip was nice enough to grab this shot of us rushing to get her outside to relieve herself IN THE SNOW!
We stopped for dinner back in Te Anau, and then headed back to our house for the night. GREAT DAY!!!
