We woke up early for a run and quick breakfast and headed out sailing! It was fun, but the kids were a little freaked out by the amount of water splashing on them and the strong winds. The mustered a smile none the less!
Today was Fiji Day-their Independence Day. They were doing a special Kava Ceremony and flag raising this morning and throughout the day there were a lot of organized tournaments and events including soccer, volleyball, beach games, etc.
A traditional Fijian Lovo (Earth oven) prepared for our dinner later that night.
We dropped the kids at kid’s club so that Brian and I could go for our couple’s massage on the beach in the adults only resort.
Bliss!
After, Brian went back to the room for a rest and I went to enjoy a caramel shake on the beach. Along the beach walk back, I found the Cast Away raft. The following picture is from later that night during high tide.
On the beach, they were doing tug of war competitions.
Soon enough my 3 kiddos came around the corner to have their turn in the competition. They won!
From here I took the kids to get ready for some more pool time. Here I was relaxing while the kids were playing, and was trying to get a few photos of the action, when in my camera I see the football coming at me…
Check out those reflexes!
Sylvia brought us all some fresh sugar cane juice to try.
Yum!
After getting cleaned up, it was back to kids club and Brian and I went kayaking-this time all around the lagoon by the marina. Again, it was so peaceful and beautiful, but the way back was a killer again with the strong winds-thankfully this time there were 2 of us rowing!
Time to get ready for dinner!
Before dinner, family beach pictures!
Beautiful sunset!
Brian’s dream yacht
We got a special treat at dinner tonight! The kids had been practicing a special dance for us! The girls had so much fun with this and they were totally adorable. You wouldn’t believe Kyla’s booty shakin’!
After dinner, Jon & Kyle went out for a 2nd night of night snorkeling (they saw so many cool things at night!), while the rest of us adults took turns going down to see the staff doing their special items to end their Fiji Day celebrations.
We ended our night as we did a few times during the week with some Euchre and late night chatting. What fun!
