I started off my day with a nice run with my dad, followed by replenishing my lost calories and then some, but YUM! I had been wanting to try this breakfast place in Wahroonga (The Butcher's Block) for awhile now and it did not disappoint! Definitely spendy, but delicious! By the way, this was all of our breakfasts, not just mine!
We had a low key afternoon by the pool and then packed up to head to The Hunter Valley (2 hour drive north), one of Australia's best known wine regions. We got there later in the day and were trying to get into one winery that was supposedly open later, but I guess they decided to close early that day. We were so lucky to see the guy closing up the door as we pulled into another one and asked if we could come in just to buy some wine. He was very kind and still ended up letting us do a little tasting. Unfortunately, this story ends with them losing their purchased bottles of wine when going through security at the airport. But, it was fun at the time! Yes, I realize the name of this place and the fact that there is a mountain off in the distance, but it was a great little winery.
From here, we headed over to The Hunter Valley Gardens for their Christmas Lights Spectacular. 1.5 million Christmas lights twinkling all around us throughout the gardens were beautiful! We grabbed a bit to eat, caught a children's show, then wandered through the amazing lights displays.
Fun and entertaining children’s show
They had a little meet and greet thing afterward and Hallie just walked right up to the guy with her arms up for him to hold her-could not believe that-he must have secretly had some treats in his pocket.
Cute little 12 days of Christmas display
What my girls are made of!
The little girls had a ton of fun dancing on stage to the music and laser light show.
Sydney sights!
Beautiful rainbow and the only “snow” we’ve seen in Australia
We had a late night drive home after a fun time in The Valley.
