This was our big city day. We got up early, had a quick breakfast then drove to the train station. Well, we had one quick stop to the chemist before the train…poor Hallie had broken out in these hives, covering her body. They first showed up on Thursday and we had no idea what they were. The continued to spread and move around her body. By this day, we knew she needed something. The nurse recommended children’s Zyrtec so we stopped on our way. (Side note-she’s seen the GP and she thought it was viral…we were to continue the medicine for 2 weeks and see if they came back…they showed up right away and we were told to continue for another 2 weeks before they would do anything else as far as checking her out. We are still in that time period, so we will see what happens and will keep you posted.)
We took the train from Artarman to Milsons Point
From here, we walked across the Harbour Bridge and down to The Rocks for lunch
Amazing views of the city from the bridge
A glimpse of the Aussie flag
After lunch, we hopped on the ferry to Manly Beach
We got to watch a fun relay competition of some girls with their boards racing out into the ocean, then back in and running through the sand to their teammates.
We continued walking along the boardwalk for a bit and saw these lovely water dragons-we saw 7! There’s a sign near them that talks about protecting them. They were so still that I thought for a second they may have been fake! Definitely not!
We grabbed some ice cream then hopped back on the ferry to Circular Quay
Back at Circular Quay, we walked around the Opera House and into the Royal Botanic Gardens.
They had more things set up here for Sydney Festival
The girls racing Papa up the Opera House steps…more than once!
What can I say, I’m hilarious!
This picture is a little distorted, but this is actually a great picture to give you a real feel of this area-amazing!
We decided to come back home for dinner (Chargrill Charlie's-yum!) And threw some cupcakes together to celebrate Brian’s and my birthdays.
