We spent 3 nights at the Beachcomber Resort, 2 of those nights with all 9 of us. It was a great location and the space was great in the fact that it accommodated all of us in one unit, but it was pretty outdated and rough around the edges. Here’s a look at our place!
Davidson’s room, though instead of the cot, they had 2 rollaway beds squeezed in there.
We had quite a good night’s sleep even with all 9 of of us in this unit.
This was our “room”…we had the 2 singles pushed together and the futon folded flat next to them for the big girls with Hallie in the cot in the kitchen.
And our kitchen, with us getting ready for a day at the beach!
Jon and Brian went to scope out the beach scene while Sylvia and I got the kids and our picnic lunch ready. They found this great, private beach and picnic spot out on a small peninsula so we headed there for lunch.
Such a beautiful day!
So happy to be hanging with my friend of 20 years!!! Holy cow, does that make me feel old!
We then headed over to walk out on the Sand Bypass Jetty. Along our walk, we enjoyed the views of Surfers Paradise, the beaches, the surf and the kids even got to get up close and personal with someone’s fresh catch!
Popsicle break!
We had planned to go to the main beach there in Southport, but they were “dog” beaches with so many dogs free to run and play…great for the dogs, not so great for us and our kiddos. So, we loaded back in the car and headed back toward our place. We grabbed our gear and made our way to the beach with a sleeping baby in tow.
Another cool thing about our travel dates here was that it was Festival time and this weekend was the Australian Street Performers Championship. We got to catch a few acts, including this great dance group.
Then it was off to enjoy the rest of the day on the beach! The kids had a blast playing in the sand and water and us adults had fun boogie boarding in the perfect waves!
On our way back to the hotel, this guy let the kids check out his Hummer Limo…all fun and games until the blaring music drops a few f-bombs! Got the kids out of there in a hurry!
We enjoyed the pool and hot tub before getting ready to go out for dinner.
We ended our amazing day with a great dinner at The Coffee Club.
