The girls get 6 weeks of holiday from school during the summer. 2 of those weeks, we had family here visiting. 1 of those weeks, we went on vacation. So, that left 3 weeks of free time for us to have some summer fun! Here are a few of the fun things we did as well as a few random shots of our kiddos being cute!
The big girls had their friends over for a sleepover and enjoyed playing in the pool as well as with their American Girl dolls! Alaina’s excited that some of her Australian friends are also getting American Girl dolls!
Cute Hallie during naptime
I took the girls bowling for the first time since we’ve lived here. They had fun, but man, it is SO expensive here. I know, surprise, surprise! It think it cost the 3 of us (Hallie took turns with her sisters) with shoes somewhere around $60-70 to bowl 2 games!
Love my morning time snuggles! I’m usually the last one up!
Alaina is so good to read to her sisters
Brian and I decided to throw ourselves a little birthday party since this was our first year to now have family around for our big days. Since Brian and I are a bit competitive (just a bit ), we thought it would be fun to have a big party full of games and relays at the park. We organized the gathering, but as the day approached, the weather was not looking so good. So, we moved the party to our house. We had a blast with the 7 families (16 adults and 18 kids in total at our house!) that came doing ice breaker games, precision relay games, running relay games, and social games. It was a perfect party for Brian and I!
Kyla learned how to ride her bike awhile ago, but when we were back visiting in the States, she had a fall and then refused to ride for awhile. Then one day, she decided she wanted to ride again and boy was she ready! We took her up to the fake grass area of the school and then quickly moved over to the park with paved trails. Now she can even ride her bike from our house all the way to the park and back (about 5k). She’s rockin’ it!!
Our local shopping centre had a reptile show one morning that the girls enjoyed.
2 of our “pets” as Kyla calls them….a bush-tail and a ring-tail possum have made their home in the insulation of our carport.
Of course we made time for the beach! The girls and I met some friends at a protected beach inland and it was like being at the lake! The girls loved being able to swim and enjoy the sand.
Fun night at the outdoor theater
And before heading on vacation, we had a healthy birthday cake! Lots of fruit and yogurt and it was SO good!!
