During school holidays, we enjoyed a fun trip to the beach on one of the last beautiful, summery days. We tried a new beach, Freshwater, which may have become our favorite! It’s a great family beach with the water staying shallow for quite a ways out, lovely rock pools, amazing views and ocean swimming pool.
We liked it so much that we went back over the weekend with Brian!
Brian and I took the opportunity to have a day date and go biking around Manly. It was so much fun!
We rode up a HUGE hill to St. Patrick’s Seminary
We continued on to the top of the hill to North Head Sanctuary and Army Barracks and the Q Station. There were some amazing scenic lookouts!
They had this great Memorial Walk to honor those who have served and supported the defense of Australia in peace or in war. The paved pathway links five monuments erected to remember the major conflict periods in Australia’s history: Colonial, World War I, World War II, Post World War II, and Peace Keeping with a special Gallipoli monument standing along the pathway.
Checking out the gun station for shore defense.
We rode out the end of the scenic drive for more great views.
One morning, Alaina, mom and I went to a local baby & kids market (like a mom2mom sale) and then spent the rest of the afternoon in the city. We grabbed the train, walked the Harbour Bridge, enjoyed the Rocks Markets, rode the ferry to Manly Beach, had some ice cream, saw some street entertainers, took another ferry to Luna Park and called it a day!
We definitely took advantage of all the nice days! We went for an afternoon picnic lunch overlooking the Sydney Harbour at Cremorne Point over the weekend. The kids had a play and we walked around on this beautiful day.
Waving to boats passing by and enjoying ANZAC biscuits
Friends from back home sent us a flat person to take photos with, so flat Milo got to join us here!
From Cremorne, we drove over the Spit Bridge and back toward Manly to show my mom and the kids the nice views of the city from North Head.
