Visit with the Davidsons-Coffs Harbour

This was our first day of vacation though we actually wouldn’t see the Davidsons until the next day.  They were flying into Brisbane which is about 11-12 hours drive north of Sydney.  So, we set out bright and early this morning (we were in the car before 7am!) to start our drive to the Gold Coast (an hour south of Brisbane).  We stopped approximately 5 hours on our trip at Coffs Harbour.  Our friends, the Scaddings had traveled this route when they visited and recommended this stop and we had a great time!

After a potty break (a little challenging with a potty training Hallie), we grabbed some fish and chips for lunch.

After lunch, us girls just had to have some ice cream before beginning our walk via the breakwater to Muttonbird Island.

We walked around the island and enjoyed a beautiful 360-degree view across the ocean, beaches, harbour and marina, the city and the mountains.  The girls did great climbing up and down the big hill.

After walking back by the marina, we got back in the car, grabbed a quick shot of The Big Banana (popular tourist attraction offering facts and history on the banana plantations in the area) and continued to our accommodation in the Gold Coast.
