This cabin in Coles Bay was great. It was very close to Freycinet National Park & Wineglass Bay which were out destinations for the day and it had 3 bedrooms…one being a bunk room that the big girls were super excited about.
Saw another wallaby on our way to Freycinet
Unfortunately it was a rainy, foggy, yucky day so we didn’t get to see the beauty of Wineglass Bay. We only took this one walk as a family in which we had to wear ponchos, use umbrellas and heaps of bug spray! It was still a fun and pretty walk.
I got out on my own to do this short walk…not that exciting when it’s so foggy!
I had to laugh at this sign as I could barely see anything in the distance!
Here’s what I should have seen…well, not this exact view, but here is Wineglass Bay
I walked out toward the lighthouse that you can barely see in this first picture
We think this was an emu…it was the only one out there, but I’m guessing it was someone’s farm pet??
Driving through Bicheno-we stopped at The Blowhole
There were tons of crabs under these rocks
Aside from the rain, the blowhole definitely got us wet! We were maybe a little too close to it! I wish we had the picture of me running from it as it got me from behind!
Driving north on the east coast of Tasmania
Our destination for the night was St. Helens, but we drove through it and further east to go to this cheese factory…yum!
We stopped by at our less than stellar accommodation (not much to choose from here!) for dinner and a play at the park before heading north to Bay of Fires & Binalong Bay.
The tide had come in with a vengeance and we couldn’t walk any further east on the beach. We still had fun running around out there!
We drove a little further north (as far as the road would take us) and saw some beautiful red rocks and coastline.
And one final stop for the night to retrieve tissue out of Hallie nose that she stashed up there…a new favorite thing for her to do.
