After a quick bite to eat, we headed east to Launceston. We had a great Mexican lunch and then headed for Cataract Gorge.
Here we are at the chair lift basin…we took the chairlift up and then walked back. It was beautiful and the kids especially loved the chairlift!
We were greeted by a wallaby at the top
There were several peacocks along our walk back down

After Cataract Gorge, we continued east toward Cradle Mountain. Along the way we saw a bunch of these cute little echidnas along the side of the road.
We made it to our cabin…our smallest and most “rustic” stay (we had to walk out side to get to the toilets) I failed to take pictures, but these stock photos show the basic cabin we stayed in…large unit with 6 rooms and a shared kitchen.
We had a great dinner at a nearby lodge and walked outside on their boardwalk (seeing several wallabies) and then took a quick drive into the National Park and saw heaps of wild animals (wallaby, wombat, bush-tailed possum). Here are a couple pictures of some wombats…they didn’t seem concerned about cars and they were in no hurry to get off the road, or in fact walking straight down the road toward us.
