This morning was a bit chilly, but at least we stayed dry! We bundled up and got ready to head into Cradle Mountain National Park for some hiking!
We decided to attempt the 6km Dove Lake Circuit walk. We weren’t sure if we would do the hole thing or turn around after a bit, but we endured the entire thing and it was truly great. The girls all did awesome! The big girls were great hikers and Hallie (& I) did okay on my back the entire time…even snoozing for a bit! We could not get over the beauty of it all…amazing!
Just getting started!
See that big rock to the left…the next pictures show us on top of it-breathtaking and bit a scary!
We stopped a few times for water and snack breaks along the way.
This was about the half-way point…no turning back now!
Entering the beautiful “Ballroom Forest”
Taking a breather as we just went up a TON of stairs!
Checking out the boathouse
Hallie got to walk the last little bit-she was happy to be out of the carrier!
We made it!!!
Staring out on a 20 min. walk through the “Enchanted Walk”
Hallie just loved these interactive kid tunnels!
We were so excited to see this wombat as we were nearing the end of our walk. People that were near us were petting him!
One more short walk before hitting the road back to Launceston
Stock photo of our last hotel room. We were glad for the extra space so we could pack up after the girls went to bed in the other room. This was also where we spent Christmas Eve! Thankfully, Home Alone was on and we all enjoyed that as well as some Christmas cartoons the next morning.
Here we are at the airport on Christmas Day getting ready to head home. Yes, we did take Hallie out of her seat before it went into the oversized baggage area.
The girls did such a great job helping us move luggage around!
Cute kiddos ready for the flight home! Great vacation!!
