On Sept. 11, the Perry family arrived in Sydney. Brian picked them up from the airport in the evening and after saying hello and unpacking their things, they headed for bed. The next couple days, Brian had work, so I showed them around our neck of the woods. The kids enjoyed playing at a nearby park one day and the next, we checked out Ku-rin-gai Chase National Park, which is just 5km from our house. We enjoyed a picnic lunch, checking out the wildlife, and going on a short hike.
The Kookaburra is such a cool bird and they are all around our area. Now I understand the song:
Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree,
Merry merry king of the bush is he.
Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kookaburra
They sound like cackling monkeys!!
Another cool bird that is all around are these Cockatoos-such pretty birds!
Getting ready to go on our hike
I always get so anxious around these rock cliffs that don’t have fences…I kept picturing everyone slipping and falling off!
Nice photo bomb, Kyle!
I knew it was a bad idea to let her bring puppy…bath time for him!!
Lucas looking super cute
Hallie & Rae Rae checking out the map
Lucas was so good at helping Hallie up the steps
Cute kids!
And later that night, Kyle & Brian went to a Rugby match while the rest of us enjoyed some cake to celebrate Tracie’s birthday!
