Here we are approaching the platform to begin our fun! The platform offered a submerged platform to snorkel from as well as an underwater observatory, semi-subs, and a dining area where they served a great tropical buffet.
We started out our time snorkeling and were AMAZED by what we saw. The colors of the coral and the variety of fish and other marine life was remarkable! These pictures do not do it justice as the colors (other than blue) of the corals do not transfer onto the images (something to do with photosynthesis??). Here’s a little taste of what we saw.
We spotted a dog fish hiding in the coral
At this point, we headed in (reluctantly) for lunch and then tried out the semi-submersible which was really cool. We got to see 6 sea turtles while we were out too!
After this, we went snorkeling again. I also snagged a picture of the ocean walkers (helmet diving). We had hoped to try scuba diving, but I had a head cold and they said I would not have faired well with the pressure…not worth risking my ear drums! The snorkeling was so awesome though, I don’t feel like we missed out.
Our day of kidless fun had to come to an end, so we got back on the boat to make our way back to port…and to relieve the Perrys so they could enjoy a date night!
