Vacation to Port Douglas and Cairns-Day 6: Part 2

After the Wildlife Habitat, we drove one hour south to Cairns.  We had an awesome view from our hotel room…pool, ocean and mountains!  We spent the evening walking along the esplanade down to the marina.  What a beautiful city this is!

They had 3 amazing parks (splash/water parks as well as traditional parks and climbing/playhouse spaces) along the esplanade.

The ocean here is not swimmable…mucky and gross near the shore, so they put in this AMAZING lagoon, complete with a few sandy/beach entries.

Brian was thrilled to see this massive yacht in port.  It’s one of the largest yachts in the world, owned by former Miss UK and her billionaire husband.  314’ yacht with ‘fold-down beach club, a helicopter pad, six decks and a swimming pool.  Pretty freakin’ sweet!
